Brighton and Hove Counselling and Psychotherapy Service - CounsellorThe Brighton and Hove Counselling and Psychotherapy Service is a locally established organisation providing confidential counselling and psychotherapy in Brighton and Hove. The service is managed by Damian White, who has over fifteen years social care experience in the NHS and voluntary sector. All therapists working under the organisation’s umbrella are nationally registered with either the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) or the United Kindgom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP).
The service’s core aim is to provide high quality ethical counselling and psychotherapy that enables individuals to work towards achieving their immediate and emerging goals in a safe and supportive environment.
As part of the organisation's commitment to ethical practice, 10% of all annual profits go directly to the Save The Children Fund.
The Brighton and Hove Counselling and Psychotherapy Service abides by the 'Ethical Framework for Good Practice', which is a Code of Practice prescribed by British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
Counselling and psychotherapy are established and respected forms of working with people to enable them to better understand the ways in which they experience and live their lives. By working together in a confidential relationship with a therapist, individuals can explore difficulties and dilemmas in a safe and supportive setting. Such work does not provide answers or a magic cure for life’s everyday mysteries and discontents, but enables people to clarify their own unique way of being and the choices available to them. Counselling and psychotherapy may be short or long term.
Fees are determined at the initial free consultation and are dependant upon the client's individual situation. Also, some concessionary spaces are available. Usually, counselling or psychotherapy sessions last for 50 minutes, once a week.
The service's standard counselling hours are:
Monday to Friday: 8 am. To 8 pm.
Saturday and Sunday: By negotiation.
