Joining Black Belt Martial Arts Academy is honestly one of the best, most positive things I have ever done in my life. I've wanted to learn martial arts since I was very young but my parents couldn't afford it, then, as a working adult, I had lost all confidence to go by myself. However, I eventually tried a free lesson and dragged my boyfriend along after 2 years of nagging and we absolutely love it! The atmosphere is so welcoming and friendly, and everyone is extremely respectful - even the Little Samurais will bow and shake your hand! Sensei and Sensei Julie are very skilled and are amazing teachers with loads of energy and so much passion for what they do, couldn't ask for better instructors or learning environment. We have been invited to train in the Leadership class which is a fantastic opportunity to work with people of all skill levels. We have had nothing but great benefits from training; be it toning up/weight loss, fitness, self defence skills, or bringing a better sense of focus and confidence to our lives. I can't recommend BBMA enough! Read More

Never thought martial arts would b for me. But after joining my son, I wasnt far behind him on the mat. Not only has our fitness improve, we have made many new friends. And feel part of a community. It has opened so many avenues for myself. And am now training to b and instructor on their c. I. T program. We love our martial arts school. Couldnt ask to work with nicer people than sensie mark and sensie julie. Read More

This Acadamy is our first introduction to martial arts so I cant make a comparison to another, but we dont need to..... Since joining the acadamy my daughter has built on her confidence and her concentration and she continues to grow as a person with the influence of her respected teachers. She is fully committed. The environment at the Dojo is friendly and inclusive.

I have attended the Zen Wellness Tai Chi classes since June 2011 and I can thoroughly recommend them. I was looking for something that would keep me fit without being too strenuous. I was also looking for something that would help me to chill out. These classes have been the perfect combination. The instructor is clear with his instructions and works at the appropriate pace for his students. A happy, easy-going and instructive course that welcomes all ages and abilities. Read More

Very friendly family run dojo that caters for various needs of its students young and old, having studied kick boxing and tae kwon do in my younger days i was looking to get back into martial arts without the added pressure of being pushed to the limits again and this dojo offers you the chance to learn at your own pace recommended to anyone looking to get into martial arts.

My son joined a year ago, he had low self asteem and little confidence. He also has liver disease and needed a suitable workout. Sensei, Sensei Julie, instructors and other members have really made us welcome and my son has gone from strength to strength. He is so much more confident and is proud of himself. Such a friendly place, could not ask for anything more, really changed our outlook.

I first went along to The Black Belt Martial Arts Academy as a spectator. Having watched a few times I thought 'I can do that!' I took advantage of the free introductory lesson and now I can't get enough of Karate. After a few weeks in the basic class I went on to join the Leadership Programme and now have joined the Certified Instructor Training course. I have found that everyone is so friendly and the Academy is very family orientated. I would say to anyone, go and have a look and judge for yourself and try the free lesson. Read More

Our daughter started the Little Samurai's class Academy about 6 months ago, and absolutely loves it. She is a great deal younger than the rest of the children (aged 2), but is always made to feel welcome and the other children are very considerate and helpful towards her. Sensei Julie and the younger instructors in training are amazing, and everybody is very friendly.
We would thoroughly recommend the Academy to anybody interested in joining a martial arts group. Read More

My son started attending Black Belt Martial Arts Academy about 18 months ago, and he absolutely loves it, since training there his confidence has grown and he will partake in much more than he ever would before. For the past year both his father and I have started training and now we are all working hard with the help of Sensei and Sensei Julie to eventually open up our own school. The school itself is very friendly and welcomes both individuals and families alike, there is a warm welcome awaiting everyone who attends. This is one of the best things we have done as a family and something I would recommend to others. Read More

My Daughters started Karate Leadership in September 2010, in a short time we noticed how much more confidence they both had and how they believed they could achieve anything. We believe this is because of the dedication of Sensei and Sensei Julie in how they train and support everyone through their training.

This is a great place for families to train together and it is done around your own capabilities no pressure is placed on anyone, everyone is so friendly which helped our daughters relax immediately. My daughters love going every week and they love what they learn and are constantly practising at home. My husband and I have recently started training and we are both enjoying ourselves whilst learning new skills.

We believe this is the best martial arts group we could ever have hoped to have found and long may it continue.
