Better Bathrooms UK LTD - Home and GardenBetter Bathrooms have been in the bathroom trade selling to customers for over 25 years. What started as a family run business has now developed into a national company, selling to all corners of the UK via the internet. Unlike most online bathroom companies, Better Bathrooms have a single showroom based in Wigan, Lancashire, where its customers can come and view products at first hand. However, the majority of the company's business is done online, with over 3000 products available for sale on its website.
Although primarily operating in a B2C market, Better Bathrooms also retails to companies in similar trades, such as plumbers, builders and bathroom fitters, and offers discounts to those trades.
As the business has developed, the need for a second showroom has arisen and the company plans to open several more showrooms around the UK to cope with the online demand for its products.

1.0 out of 5 | The tap pack did not match the advertised description. E-mails and letters went unanswered. Why would anybody want to deal with this bunch?
Please save yourself a whole load of trouble. By the way, if you dig deep enough, you will find that the MD had a greater interest in golf than in retail. That is evident. Martin Watson - 5 Sep 2008 |
4.0 out of 5 | After searching around for a cheap bathroom suite to renovate a property I was doing up, I found Better Bathrooms.
I must say, I did not experience any of the problems experienced by some of the other reviewers, in fact, I had a very positive dealing with Better Bathrooms.
I managed to find a complete suite for £200 and with £35 delivery, it still came in a lot cheaper than anyone else I had found.
The only problem I encountered was trying to get the goods delivered to the property I was renovating as they only deliver to the billing address of your card. I suppose this makes sense to stop credit card fraud so in the end I just paid via a cheque and they delivered it to the property as I wanted.
The day after my cheque cleared, I received a call from their delivery company to arrange the date with me which I thought was really quick! 2 days after the call, the suite arrived on a pallet, and after checking over everything to make sure it was ok and nothing was missing, I promptly called my plumber and got the suite installed!
It looks great now and has definitely added more than £200 of value to my property and I will certainly be buying from Better Bathrooms again. I can only imagine that people write reviews when they've received bad service but not many people will take the time to write when they've received great service, so I thought I'd share my experiences and let people know that there are some great companies out there, you just have to find them!Mark Wilson - 18 Jun 2008 |
1.3 out of 5 | The bathroom suite we purchased was of good enough quality, as expected, and the site was relatively easy to navigate and purchase from. However the delivery charges are somewhat higher than other firms, but then that's probably where they make their margin, so fair enough.
However, we had a problem with some parts missing from the order - specifically the plug, chain, and waste sections for the bath. When the driver dropped off the pallete, we looked for all main sections, and the driver told us to sign for the delivery as "unchecked" just in case there were bits missing that we didn't notice at first. So when we were installing the suite about a week later and found the parts missing, we of course ran out to purchase them locally straight away. On contacting better bathrooms, we have been told twice that they will not refund or compensate us for the missing parts, blatantly in breach of our statutory rights as a consumer, as we have of course paid for them. I definitely would not recommend Better Bathrooms, and have heard from many other people who have had similar experiences. Tom Geraghty - 13 Jun 2008 |
1.0 out of 5 | I recently bought a bathroom suite off Better bathrooms. It was delivered on a wrapped palette and i signed for it in good faith thinking that all the system parts would be there, not wanting to hold up the delivery driver. On opening the palette, much to my horror the front bath panel was missing, this was within half hour of it being delivered. I rang the company immediately only to be told that i should of checked everything on delivery and not signed for it. Ridiculous, there are more bits to the suite than a comprehensive mechanno set!!! If it had been a week or so before i noticed or even the next day, but half hour after the delivery!!? What ever happened to the benefit of the doubt and the customer is always right? I wrote a letter in black and white to the company which was ignored and never had a reply back. The manager was always in a meeting when i rang to speak to him, (heard that one before) and he never once had the dignity to speak to me. To cut a long story short, which went on for well over a month, because it was a custom made panel with a curve in it, i had to buy another panel off them for £100 plus the delivery charge, which brought it up to £140!!! Ive just got the bathroom fitted now and low and behold, the plumber has now told me that the shower hose is too short! I bought this unit on recommendation from a friend, even he had a moment with them, after he had payed, they told him they could not find the bath for his suite!!! My advice is to stay away from Bitter Bathrooms, sorry did i mean to say Better? Marks out of ten -10 Yes the bathroom suite was cheap, whats the saying? You only get what you pay for!!! I didn't even get that. Not recommended. Neville Dugdale - 26 May 2008 | | | Company Response : Firstly, we are sorry to hear of your disappointment and the problems you experienced. However, with regards your first issue, our delivery notes state very clearly that you MUST check all the items on the pallet and note any shortfalls on the delivery note. It also states on this note that the driver is contracted to allow you time to check over your goods and that if he doesn't allow you time, you must REFUSE the delivery. Stating that you didn't want to hold up the delivery driver is not our fault, we have put procedures in place to allow you time to check over your items. With goods of this nature, it would be unacceptable of us to make you sign a delivery note without checking over the items in case they have been damaged in transit, which, due to the nature of our products, does occasionally happen.
With regards the hose you purchased, it is a standard 1.5m shower hose which is more than adequate for the majority of our customers. |
