My wife and I have stayed in a good many guest houses for short breaks over the past few years, but the Bees Knees was by far the best we have come across to date, and we would have no hesitation in booking again . Shell and Graham are a lovely, friendly couple who obviously enjoy what they do, and go out of thier way to ensure you get everything you want, and more. The place is spotlessly clean, and the food second to none. The best short holiday we have had.

For those of us who lead the nomadic business existence, (moving between far-flung meeting venues and bland hotels), the 'Bees Knees' Guest House in Poole is a wonderful, homely oasis in the corporate desert. Excellent value for money, too.

A recent training event required me to spend a day and night in Poole, along the coast from Bournemouth. Trip Adviser revealed a mass of possible accommodation options, but the Bees Knees stood out - could its attractive description and glowing reviews be possible?

A quick email query was responded to by hosts Shell and Graham with a very welcoming and informative message. The friendly, professional correspondence continued after making the booking - direction details, dietary requirements, and supper tray needs - for my late arrival. Impressive personal touches - I couldn't wait to complete the journey from Lincoln shire to Poole.

The reality of Bees Knees more than matched my high expectations. Shell and Graham made me feel very welcome and at home, from the moment they opened the front door, whisked my bags to my room and directed the car in to the off-road parking space. Then, a quick tour of the homely accommodation, (including the attractive guests' sitting and breakfast rooms), a welcoming hot drink , and a 20 minute freshen up break before the delivery to my room of the heaving supper tray - all organic, home made and/or locally sourced food - a real treat.

My en-suite room was perfect - just the right size to provide good movement, working and storage space, and a feeling of home-from-home comfort. The en-suite was one of the best I have experienced in my business travels and the room furniture, including the all-important bed, were of an excellent standard. I had a perfect sleep - a very unusual experience in any new bed.

Shell and Graham have a real feel for how to treat their guests - they make you feel special without being intrusive, and they welcome any questions, advice or support you may need. A request for an early breakfast was no trouble at all, and it was beautifully prepared and presented. Being given, at the table, a directional map to my training venue in Poole was impressive attention to detail, and very helpful to help prepare for the day ahead.

All in all, an excellent stay which, no doubt, helped the training event go extremely well. I look forward to future business trips in this part of the world and my next stay with Shell and Graham at the Bees Knees Guest House.

The Bees Knees really is the Bee's Knees! I have a number of dietary requirements, so Shell and Graham contacted me in advance to ensure that they would be able to cater for my needs... and cater they did! They offered a superb breakfast with loads of choice, so much so that I could barely move by the end. Aside from that, the room was delightful - comfortable and warm - and offered at an extremely reasonable rate for a 'single supplement'.

We spent 2 very restful nights at the Bees Knees. The rooms are tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean. Shell and Graham were most helpful with tips on what to see in the area and have a good range of information brochures available. They are open and friendly and made us feel very at home. The breakfast menu is varied with top quality organic and homemade produce. The homemade digestive biscuits we found in our room each evening were delicious! We didn't have an evening meal but the sample menu looked wonderful and we would definitely try it next time. The Bees Knees is ideally located for getting into Bournemouth or Poole by bus but absolutely quiet with a lovely garden to sit in. The name Bees Knees is well deserved!

We stayed for 3 nights and found this to be the best B&B that we have ever stayed in. The room was furnished to a very high standard, was exceptionally clean and very comfortable. The bathroom contained a top of the range power shower and the bathroom itself gleams with cleanliness. The food provided was excellent and tailored to our requirements. We also found our stay to be quiet and peaceful. But most of all we found our hosts Shell and Graham to be very friendly, kind and considerate.

Graham and Shell made me feel very welcome at Bees Knees as I prepared for my fishing trip out of Poole. In the morning they were very kind and gave me a lift to and from the boat despite the fact I hardly even caught anything! I would definatley return, they were very friendly and ran a high quality professional set up too.

We stayed for 2 nights and were made to feel extremely welcome. The room was fabulous with Art deco furniture and beautiful en suite bathroom. The breakfast was fantastic - lots of of choice, excellent quality and plenty of it! We also had an evening meal which was as good as any decent restaurant could provide, but with better service! The atmosphere is homely, relaxed and friendly and they both go out of their way to make you feel welcome and to make your stay as relaxing as possible. We plan to go back in August..thank you Graham and Shell for making our stay so great...they even gave us chocolates to celebrate my partners birthday!

We stayed for two nights, we were made to feel very welcome. The home cooked breakfasts were divine. The evening meal was fantastic. Our room though small was fitted with very high quality fittings and tea and coffee was provided with fresh milk. We returned to our room after a busy day to find home made cookies- very nice. Will choose to return if we go back to Poole. Would highly recommend to all
