Company DescriptionBabel Editing offers English copyediting, proofreading, and developmental editing services.Copy editing proceeds at a rate of about nine hundred words per hour; proofreading is faster, substantive editing slower. An estimate of the cost will be provided based on a sample of work. Babel Editing's Ben Young has been providing English copyediting services for academics since 1997; he has a PhD in philosophy (Edinburgh, 2000), which gives him the attention to detail (some would say pedantry) needed in a English copyeditor/proofreader. He also has seven years' experience working in political and education research, is the publisher of an influential study of the Scottish parliament, and has written extensively for public campaigning organisations.
