Based in Hampton Vale, Peterborough, Animacs Ltd are Apple Certified Service Engineers and consultants with 25 years experience with Macs - all the way back to System 5 - and more recently, iPods, iPads and iPhones.
Specialising in troubleshooting, repairs and upgrades. Same day local call-outs when available.
Whether it is breakdowns, networking, upgrades, data recovery or any other requirement to do with Macs, Animacs have the ability to look after any business and keep it running.
Preventative maintenance is highly recommended - it's better not to break down in the first place than to expedite recovery procedures.
Evening and weekend appointments can be available, just call to arrange a date and time that is mutually convenient.
Animacs Ltd has an expanding group of customers, based in the Greater Peterborough area, including local schools, printers, designers, publishers, artists, illustrators, engineering manufacturers and individuals.
Customers further afield can be found in France, Spain, Cyprus and the USA.
Certified by Apple in 2000 after many years of giving support to local businesses, emphasis is placed on prevention to avoid issues developing but equally at home rescuing sometimes dire circumstances when, for example, drives fail or data is deleted accidentally - as happened with one client who unintentionally deleted his main user along with 56gb of data.
Responding to client's needs in the shortest possible time to ensure that any downtime is limited to the minimum as well as being cost effective. Whether it's an iMac, an iPhone, an iPad or any other Apple product, the aim is to make things as pain-free as possible.
Products are sourced from a variety of suppliers with the aim of keeping costs and delivery times under control. Some are recycled or refurbished, some are new from Apple and others can be from 3rd party suppliers who manufacture replacements or for Apple themselves.
The company is managed by Tony Green who has been involved in Mac Support, hardware upgrades and repairs since 1987. There are very few Macs that he hasn't owned and none that he hasn't worked on one way or another.

My son had dropped his IPAD and broken the glass and following my failed attempt to replace the glass, the LCD screen had also become faulty - time to get a professional in !! I called Tony to explain the situation and all was fixed within 2 hours - fully recommended. Thank you.
Company response : It's always tempting to try and save some money by trying to repair an iPad yourself, but without the right tools AND the requisite experience - Youtube videos are really not a substitute and some are just fakes - you can end up with a mess on your hands as well as a load of extra expense when things don't work out. The plastic tools supplied with many digitisers on ebay are wholly inadequate and are incapable of getting the job done. In this instance even the adhesive tape that came attached to the digitiser had been put on wrong and wouldn't have worked for long. So, no criticism from me when it goes wrong, just understanding of the situation and a quick solution to the problem. |

Company response : Just a normal service for me - I hate to see people distressed over failing drives. In this instance it was a software/directory problem, after thoroughly testing everything, and I was happy that it didn't need a new drive. Now get your backup sorted out! :-) |
| 5.05 5.0 out of 5 - Had to replace broken glass screen on an iPad. Rang at tea time, dropped off ten mins later and collected same evening! IPad looked like new and didn't have to trek into town. Would highly recommend, for great service and a competitive price.

He also gave the machine a quick once-over and lots of advice on how to speed it up. Top quality service without the technical smokescreen which is all too common with computer repairs.

Company response : Thanks Matthew, it was a shame to see that the previous attempt to repair it was a total bodge job. The repairer didn't have the ability to do the job properly and had cut off the original headphone jack and attempted to solder a new one onto the logic board without removing the old one! Not only that, but they'd also put a tear in the digitiser cable. All is well now. |
