The town marks the western gateway to the stunning Jurassic Coastline, which runs from Exmouth to Swanage in Dorset (95 miles) and was awarded World Heritage Status in 2001.
The Exe Estuary is one of the most beautiful in Britain and a haven for bird life. Amble along the banks for glimpses of castles, charming riverside villages and breathtaking sunsets. There is also the unique National Trust site at A La Ronde. The area is also a delight for golfers with 3 top class clubs in the vicinity.
