I had Ian as my instructor, and he had a lot more confidence in me than I did in myself. I passed first time with only two minors. He is a down to earth person and very easy to get on with, overall I enjoyed my lessons and happy to say I've now passed!  Useful

My instructor Graeme was wonderful in terms of his wealth of experience, endless patience and generally excellent teaching style. It was never any problem to reschedule lessons that I had to cancel, and the value for money was excellent - most probably the best value in the area in fact. Since having my son I decided to take up driving again to benefit both me and my son. I was told Amber was a well respected driving school so I took the plunge. Graeme was a patient and a clear instructor who listened and explained everything to me. There was never any pressure to do anything I wasn't sure of and he worked hard to get my confidence up while driving. Because of his hard work and dedication I passed my driving test first time after only 12 lessons. I recommend Amber driving school for value for money for any new driver, confident or not and I'd like to say another big thank you to graeme for helping me pass my test, I never thought I'd be able to do it x  Useful

The opportunity to do two hour blockings was brilliant as I felt I got a lot more done! Ian was patient and informative all of the time and I feel he has prepared me for any situation on the road. The pass rate speaks for its self!! Would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of learning to drive!!!  Useful

At the time I started my lessons I was 43 yes old and had never driven a car in my life! After speaking to Ian, the owner, I started my lessons with one of his drivers called Steve who was exactly the kind of instructor I needed. He had just the right mix of professionalism and fun that settled my nerves and gave me the confidence I needed. He also knew what I was capable of and pushed me along at just the right pace. There was never any problems arranging or rearranging lessons and I passed first time with good results in my theory and only one minor in the practical test. I honestly believe I could not have done anywhere near as well as I did without Steve's instruction. After talking to people about their experiences with other driving instructors I think I was very lucky to have learned to drive with Amber and would recommend them to others without any reservations.  Useful

5.0 out of 5 Posted : 31 Mar 2011  I highly recommend Amber School of Motoring to anyone who wishes to learn to drive after passing my driving test, first time, with only two minor faults at the age of 17 with this company. I had no other experience of driving other than with Amber as it was not necessary; a friendly and reliable service, but more importantly, effective methods of teaching that are easy to understand, easy to remember and achieve good results. My instructor (Ian Huddart) was excellent and gave honest feedback throughout my progress learning to drive, which is exactly what a learner driver should want. Also very good value for money and a good range of modern cars.  Useful

5.0 out of 5 Posted : 15 Feb 2011  Amber was recommended by a number of friends who passed first time with the driving school & I knew I had made the right decision in giving Ian a call from the start. I was extremely nervous as learning to drive was something I’d put off for many years, but that all disappeared a few minutes into my first lesson. Ian was extremely patient all the way through my learning & managed to turn my nerves into excitement & it wasn’t long before I was looking forward to every lesson. Amber are extremely accommodating when arranging lessons & helped to fit them into my busy lifestyle. I couldn’t believe I passed first time with so few minors but knew I was ready for my test as I had complete trust in my instructor. I honestly laughed through most of my lessons with Ian, he is a really down to earth guy & would put anyone at ease. I recommend Amber to anyone of any age wanting to learn to a high standard. I have been on cloud nine since I passed & can't thank Amber enough for everything they did to help me achieve my goal. Absolutely fantastic. Well worth it :o)  Useful
