Morris Lane Creative Media - Film, Television and Video Company MLCM is a UK-based independent production company that combines professional experience with high production values. As a relatively small company, MLCM considers its productions extremely cost effective, with resources dedicated to creativity (not leather sofas, runners, or expensive London premises).
MLCM is proud of its experience in both broadcast and non-broadcast environments, and feels at home producing broadcast television programmes as well as DVD and web-based digital films and audio productions.
MLCM creates films and audio productions that help people communicate clearly and effectively. The company delivers quality productions to a high specification and always on time. Audiences are demanding and they deserve the best.
While MLCM uses cost-effective broadcast quality equipment to help meet demanding production values, the company's creative skills and experience remain of paramount importance.
MLCM's commission for Horse and Country TV was an important addition to the company's portfolio. The 12 part series was broadcast on Sky Channel 280 during the summer of 2008, attracting audiences of more than a million.
MLCM's film featuring Melksham's ageing comprehensive school helped secure government funding for a new school for Melksham, while its film for Rowdeford School, received special comment from Ofsted inspectors.
MLCM's range of clients include the New Forest National Park Authority, BBC, ILR, and the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
Since 1986, James Harrison, MLCM's founder, worked in radio as a BBC producer and presenter, working on live programmes, documentaries and features. James reported for BBC TV news programmes Points West and Around the South in Eighty Days, while more recently worked on the BBC website as a site producer and content provider.
In 2005 he worked on the BBC's hugely successful People's War digital storytelling project and was one of the first producers to research and process archive film and video for subsequent play-out on the BBC website.

5.0 out of 5 | Our organisation, Trilith, is a charity. It is not every media company that is sensitive to the needs of the voluntary sector and of the communities (in our case rural communities) with which we work. Morris Lane is versatile, understands our needs from the beginning and is immediately attuned to the sort of work we do. We have employed Morris Lane to assist with an inovative internet radio station for the farming community (Farm Radio). This required highly competent and sensitive programme making with widely dispersed farming families and close collaboration with a wider team of professionals and volunteers. The results were superlative. We also commissioned Morris Lane to work in a partnership project that we created with an Irish community radio station, involving exchanges of personnel and programmes. Morris Lane oversaw the production of a series of audio pieces reflecting the viewpoints of a wide range of local people on life in Dorset and Somerset, for transmission in Ireland. The success of our relationship with our Irish partners was, in no small measure, due to the way that Morris Lane handled this work. But there is always an extra with Morris Lane. The company's experience is both considerable and highly practical. It is therefore well able to contribute to the development of ideas and new projects. Working alongside Morris Lane immediately gets you thinking about new directions and possibilities. |

From Brunel FM in Swindon.
From Keith Stainer News Editor.
I include a comment from former Chairman Dave Latham and entirely agree with his comments. James Harrison is highly creative and talented individual and these strengths are galvanised by a commitment to reach high standards of customer service and satisfaction too.
Dave Latham "I asked Morris Lane Creative Media to film the launch of Brunel FM in Swindon and provide us with a short video record of the event and the personalities present. I am pleased to say that we got a lot more than we asked for !
Quite simply they produced a stunning and exciting 7 minute documentary of the launch with the characters present telling the story. James Harrison used his creative skills to the maximum, providing the film with the correct amount of sparkle and pace with a sprinkling of tension or anticipation at appropriate moments. Quite simply the film made the event appear more exciting and relevant than it seemed on the day itself ! Due in part to the excellent advanced planning and production values. In a few minutes of film , James had told the story and captured the mood. A rare gift indeed.
Add to this the lightening speed all of this is put together in - you have a company which delivers a brilliant and memorable product in a short period of time".

5.0 out of 5 | What impressed me most was the no-nonsense, accessible approach used by MLCM. They provided us with a fascinating presentation and facilitated a follow up discussion that really helped to demystify the whole process of online media from podcasting to press releases. It provided our organisation with a really useful explanation of the issues we are facing in terms of how we use our website for the future. If you are looking to work with people who speak plain English, really know their stuff, and are a pleasure to work with then MLCM would be my recommendation.

5.0 out of 5 | I have been involved in several projects with Morris Lane Creative Media. What sets this company apart from so many, in the independent sector, is that it cares about the people it works with and treats them in a way it would like to be treated. Specifically, the voice talent provided, for some of my on-air promotional work, has been outstanding. BBC Radio g seaman - 30 Mar 2008 |
5.0 out of 5 | MLCM have worked for this school on a number of occasions; initially on a DVD to help with a bid and then on 2 more DVD's which were really well received by parents and really promoted the school. MLCM have also assisted on projects including the school prospectus, advertising and marketing materials and photography. We are really happy to recommend the company - we have been delighted with all the work they have done. Margaret Bryant - 27 Mar 2008 |
5.0 out of 5 | MLCM has provided me with video content on a number of recent projects for very high profile clients, particularly the BBC. All the work has been of the very highest quality and I couldn't be happier with the level of service. I'd recommend MLCM to anyone. |
