Based in Luton, John Harrison is a freelance opensource developer + support consultant offering Perl Development, Unix Shell scripting + Linux Specialist services to clients in London, Luton + surrounding areas.

He has worked as a freelance consultant in the UK since 1999 following 10 years in technical roles in New Zealand as a permanent employee.

8 years of (often project based) contracts + his thirst to keep learning more have gained John experience in a range of different technologies + work environments including; banking, technology, telco, media, health, law enforcement + military.

He has developed a love of variety and a taste for challenges both technical and logistical.

He takes pride in being able to finish roles knowing he's added value to his client's business.

It is important to him to be able to leave his mark in a positive, beneficial and meaningful way at each site he works on, both for his personal satisfaction + also so he will be remembered well + sought again when new tasks arise.
