Graham has been involved with horses and racing all his life. He started point-to-pointing when he was 16 and has ridden winners both in point to points and under rules. Graham has worked for several high profile trainers, most recently spending 6 years with Brendan Powell, the last 3 years working successfully as Head Lad and previously his work included:
- Pupil assistant / conditional jockey with Oliver Sherwood
- Work-rider in Maryland, USA for Michael Dickenson
