They are fraudsters. Avoid them!!! They took lots of money from us and dissapeared.

DK Contractors This company is a Polish builders firm; operated by two brothers Kris and Dawid Werner (They use other surnames too). Their website says they cover Manchester, Stockport and bury area. They use an address in north Manchester but I doubt if this was the address they were living at as Manchester’s council tax department confirmed this property was empty when we queried it. They come across as being very knowledgeable and promise to do things as asked. They tells you that they have done few other job in Manchester including a 5/6 bed, 3 bathroom house in south Manchester. The reality is they none of them have any clue in workman ship. They hire unskilled polish labourers and drop them off at your property. These labourers are unsupervised and given a brief instruction on what to do. They do not speak any English. So you can not communicate with them either. The result is very poor bricklaying. Uneven spacing between bricks, using wrong size bricks cutting them too small. The walls are not actually straight. And wall ties are bent at an angle, and put in very infrequently, and insulation is not always put in and you have to check they have actually done this. Also on our extension the builders had not even laid the pipe work for ground floor W.C. and shower, which is to run under the extension, although the ground floor walls have gone up. The door levels for the extension were not the correct height to match the existing house. I can go on adding here. Overall the workmanship is poor and short cuts are made frequently. But it’s partly our fault also. We tried to same money and were very naïve. Did not do our research property and fell for the trap. HENCE WRITING THIS REVIOW FOR OVERS NOT TO FALL FOR THE SAME. Do not be fooled by the cheap quote you are given or all those lies you read on their website. They are definitely NOT professional, confident tradesmen and DONOT know what a schedule of work is. They start off well it seems, but once they have part of your money and you realise their work is substandard, they make a quick exit to Poland, which is what has happened in our case. As a result we are demolishing our extension and will be starting from scratch as this construction is not safe and may collapse even with a small tremor(s we are now told by experts). I can not ignore it as I will have to under this with my family, hence demolishing and rebuilding and telling you all as I believe no one can take this rink either. However, I still do not believe that all polish builders are like this. It’s just my misfortune that I ended up this one like this. But PLEASE, please always do your homework properly and thoroughly before you employ them. If possible get an independent surveyor. Do not reply on Councils building regulation department.
