5.0 out of 5 Posted : 13 Jan 2012  Joanne is just simply superb at what she does, she makes creative, beautifully made dresses using exquisite fabric. I had a very vague idea about what I wanted when I first went to visit but Joanne came up with a stunning first sketch which we then tweaked throughout the fitting process. Compared to an off-the-rack dress Joanne offers astounding value for money for a custom made and fitted dress. I don't live in the UK full-time and Joanne was so flexible about arranging fitting times and making my wedding dress on short notice. An absolute pleasure to work with, I will be back in a second if I need a beautiful evening gown!  Useful

5.0 out of 5 Posted : 19 Oct 2011  I have to admit that for me there was never any doubt as to where I should get my wedding dress...once I found Joanne's website it was love at first sight! I booked an appointment after perusing the images of the amazing and unique dresses she has made in the past and I knew that she'd make a beautiful dress, because I practically loved all her creations! When I went to Brighton and saw the dresses in person I was taken aback by the exquisite quality of the fabrics and her work, so much so that anything else I saw elsewhere after that first visit was deemed 'unworthy'. I went back for each fitting to find a dress that matched the idea in my mind even better than I could have explained it and suited my personality to a tee! The finished dress would have made even Grace Kelly envious! I don't know if I have enough words to praise Joanne's work, her patience and lovely character as she deserves. Suffice to say that if there was a 6 in this grading system she'd get it from me!  Useful

I was starting to get very depressed when I discovered Jo by searching the web. From the first meeting I knew Jo would design a dress appropriate for me and still be stunning. What I couldn't predict was the finished article. Attention to detail was second to none. The fittings in Jo's studio were a joy as Jo was always so relaxed. Not from Brighton but the journey there every time was worth it. My wedding day was really happy added to by really enjoying wearing my dress. Liz Russell  Useful

From the start Jo put me at ease and really listened to my very vague ideas of what I thought I wanted for a wedding dress. I was quite daunted about the whole process and was really keen to avoid the more traditional/intimidating wedding stores. Jo offered great advice and was patient with my in-decisions. I really felt like the end result was 'me' and had lots of compliments on the day of how I looked. Thanks Jo  Useful

5.0 out of 5 Posted : 6 May 2011  I spent many hours traipsing around bridal shops. Everything felt so run of the mill and nothing seemed to suit me. Then I found Jo. I knew what I wanted something elegant and classic, and when I saw Jo's initial sketch, I knew she just 'got it'. Coming down from London to meet with Jo every few weeks was always a pleasure. Her studio is incredibly calming and she is a truly gifted designer. My mum was so impressed by Jo, that she also had her dress for the wedding made by her, which meant happy day trips to Brighton for both of us. Jo, listens, takes the time to understand your needs and your shape and her attention to detail is incredible. I would recommend her to anyone looking for beautiful and unique dress.  Useful

I had been recommended by another Bride who had her dress designed by Jo. From my first meeting with Jo I knew my dress would be perfect. I had previously looked for my wedding dress for weeks, I tried on lots of beautiful dresses in local shops, they just made me feel odd, they didn't "wow" me. I knew I wanted a vintage style dress, and something a little different. I explained all this to Jo, and she designed me my perfect dress. Jo was so patient with me, even when I had to bring my children to her studio. She made the whole experience so special, Jo made me feel amazing. I will continue to highly recommend Joanne Fleming, she is truly amazing! Thank you so much.  Useful

Jo is very professional, but relaxed at the same time, her lovely studio and one-to-one attention put you in ease straight away. Jo listens carefully to your requirements and understands the mood and feel you want to achieve - I was very excited to see that the first drawing of my dress was exactly what I wanted – perfect! I loved coming down to Brighton for my fittings and seeing my dress taking shape. Both pieces are gorgeous and they made our wedding & photos out of this world – true old glamour. I can highly recommend Jo to create that special dress for any occasion – truly bespoke and unique loveliness.  Useful

5.0 out of 5 Posted : 5 Jun 2010  I only had to look at Jo to know I could trust her with my wedding dress- she's a very stylish lady! I knew I wanted a deviation from a traditional gown but still wanted to look bridal. I knew I loved halternecks but that was as clear as I could be. However, Jo just has this way of bringing my thoughts to clarity before I've even ascended the steps to her studio! The silks are a real treat- such wonderful colours ( I went for Ochre) and they feel incredible. Jo is very calm too and allayed any of the doubts or anxieties I had immediately. Especially as I became pregnant just before she started making the dress. I wondered how on earth she could make a bespoke dress for a moving target of a body size and shape wise, but she has her tricks! The dress I ended up with suits me so well in a way that I never would've found off the rack. So I felt I was marrying my husband truelly looking and feeling myself. It was an enjoyable process; I really recommend going bespoke. Somehow it felt part of the initiation of being married- making choices about the way I want things to be and being good at communicating. It's so lovely to employ the craft of a wonderfully skilled local lady too. Jo is fabulous with a great eye for design and style. I couldn't recommend her enough.  Useful

Not only did I get that but I also got a dress that made me feel absolutely amazing and that is all thanks to Jo. My two bridesmaids had their dresses made too and the way my six year old daughter's dress has been made with subtle echos of the older bridesmaids dress is very clever. We all received many compliments on how we looked during the day and my daughter has asked if I could get married again so she can wear her dress!!  Useful

5.0 out of 5 Posted : 5 Jan 2010  Jo made me the best wedding dress ever! Even though it was an eight hour round trip to see her, she made it completely worth it. She was lovely; calm, helpful, and ‘got’ what I wanted straight away, brilliant at making the idea I had into reality, adding suggestions of her own along the way. She made the whole experience really special - in fact it was probably the only part of wedding planning that wasn’t in any way stressful. Most importantly the dress itself is stunning, and yes, it’s nearly impossible not to slip into now it’s hanging up at home. Her rates are incredibly reasonable too.   Useful
