Job Overview

Working on a Self employed basis, to assess Health and Social Care L2 and L3 in Coventry.

I am looking for an experienced assessor, who can work independently, and can support the 14+ learners through the full spectrum of the apprenticeship programme.

All learners are located at the same location.

Duties and Responsibilities

Job Description/Responsibilities.

Carry out an initial assessment and identification of training needs to ensure that the training is appropriate for the learner and to identify whether any additional support may be needed by the learner.

Delivery of training is in accordance with the Delivery Plan to enable the learner to demonstrate the appropriate skills and knowledge relevant to the qualification achieved.

Preparing the learner for their training in their chosen qualification through support, mentoring, coaching and teaching in accordance with the relevant awarding body and Code of Practice.
Support the development of their functional skills to prepare them for formal assessments in Math, English and ICT.

Ensuring learners comply with all H&S and Equality and Diversity legislation, policies and procedures in place. Include learning and teaching of Equality and Diversity in line with the qualification they are completing, and policy and procedures relating to equality and diversity. Include learning and teaching of Safeguarding in line with the qualification they are completing and policy and procedures relating to safeguarding of young people and vulnerable adults.

Completion of all appropriate documentation relevant to the qualification and learners progress in a timely manner and in accordance with the funding body, Ofsted and awarding body requirements. All learner records must clearly demonstrate teaching, learning and progression to a good standard as defined by Ofsted.

Ensure the well-being and safety of the learner throughout their period of training.

Ensure you attend standardisation meetings and scheduled training days in order to deliver to the highest standard.

Return a regular report on the progress of your learners. Be available for regular one-ones, EQA, monthly Standardisation meetings and Ofsted visits as required.

Skills / Qualifications / Experience Required

Qualifications – A1/TAQA or equivalent; PTLLS is desirable.
Candidates should also hold the relevant qualification to Level 3 in the subject they are assessing and ideally they should be experienced in delivering all components of the Apprenticeships and experience of delivering Functional Skills.

This is an excellent opportunity to be involved in the assessment process allowing people to achieve a full QCF/Apprenticeship L2 and/or L3 qualification in Health and Social Care. You will be required to take a caseload of learners where you will have regular meetings to support them through the qualification process, involving regular visits to the learners place of employment and also offer remote support.

Any additional qualifications such as the V1 Internal Verifying Award (or equivalent) would be desirable.

Your occupational experience can cover a broad range of activities from within the relevant industry sector including:-
Health and Social Care Nursing Mental Health.
