Job OverviewA small and growing event team at an evolving event management agency in London requires event support staff to help out on event dates. For the right candidate with the right attitude, this job will be immediately rewarding; with event management training and regular opportunities to progress within the organisation.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe key responsibilities will include hospitality - meeting and greeting guests, supervising event activities, checking that floor plan, layouts, catering and equipment requirements go according to plan; reporting any problems to the line manager; and ensuring that event evaluation forms are handed out to delegates to complete and then collected before the leave. Excellent customer service and maintaining a friendly face and helpful attitude at all times, is absolutely essential. The candidate will gain a valued understanding of the conference / exhibition and events industry, from supervising many different events.
Skills / Qualifications / Experience RequiredThe successful candidate, first and foremost, must be genuinely responsive to event attendees and their needs. Team members are all passionate, dedicated and forward thinking. Creativity, people skills, and plenty of enthusiasm are essential during unpredictable events. The successful candidate will have previous experience in the event sector or at least two years experience working in a frontline customer services or hospitality role; in the UK or abroad, and also be available to work occasional weekends.
