Job Overview

A fantastic opportunity has just opened for an enthusiastic person to join us at our York offices to learn the ins and outs of a busy office environment. MyKnowledgeMap is a software developer involved in assessment, learning and skills technology, working with customers such as the National Skills Academy for Railway Engineering, 3M, University of Leeds, CIPD, the CMI and many more.

This apprenticeship role, in conjunction with York College, will involve general office administration, meeting, greeting and looking after customers, some database and helpdesk IT work and more - there's plenty of different and interesting projects to get involved in within this small ambitious company, in addition to your primary office role.
You will attend York College for half a day per week and work with MKM for the rest of the time.
 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

Answering the phone, dealing with incoming and outgoing post, answering and forwarding on emails/ incoming customer enquiry, emails from various accounts.
Meeting and greeting clients, arranging car parking and directions.
Preparing and planning meetings, including; preparing agendas, ordering lunch, maintaining drinks, snacks throughout the duration of the meeting.
Maintain office and kitchen environments.
Maintaining stationery and other office equipment.
Making travel and accommodation bookings, within a budget.
Supporting marketing and event activities and collateral when appropriate.
Performing basic helpdesk and database management.
Performing basic data research using the internet.
Assist in the planning and organisation of internal staff activities.
Supporting the customer service team in maintaining high level of customer service and implementing new policies.
Supporting the Operations Director and Financial Controller within their office management roles.
 

Skills / Qualifications / Experience Required

A minimum of 3 GCSE or equivalent at Grade D or above to include English and Mathematics.
Evidence of part time working experience.
