Think Dita von Teese, Gypsy Rose Lee and Bettie Page – this Burlesque course is is guaranteed to make you feel sassy and confident, whisking you away into a world of glamour and humour. Be prepared to realise your alter-ego – and take her partying afterwards!You don’t have to have any prior dance training as we will start with the basics and take it at everyone’s pace, with the emphasis on fun. You will soon find yourself posing like a pin-up, peeling like a professional, and uncovering secrets of your personality that Burlesque will bring out in you. Regardless of your shape, size or age, Burlesque is for you! Each week, you will be introduced to a different style of Burlesque and will be shown how to pose, walk, shimmy and strip Burlesque-style, incorporating all of this into an impressive, memorable and saucy dance routine at the end! We recommend that you wear comfortable clothing and shoes as this is a movement-based class. If you would like to dress up in a burlesque style, you are very welcome to. Please also bring high-low heels, because by the end of your time with us you will be slinking and strutting like a vintage movie star. You might also like to bring your own pair of gloves and tassels if you have them. It's hot work too, so bring a bottle of water! So come and unleash the showgirl within! ALL WOMEN.
