Daisy Birthing™ antenatal classes provide the combination of pregnancy yoga inspired moves, birth hypnosis, birth dance, pregnancy massage, relaxation and a chance to meet other mums. Daisy Baby classes offer complete continuity of care for mums to be and will be able to support mums through New Born, Tinies and Wrigglers sessions using calming techniques, baby massage, baby yoga and sensory work.

THE AIM OF DAISY BIRTHING ANTENATAL CLASSES.
Essentially the aim of all our antenatal mentors (mums like you who are passionate about birth) is to help you birth with confidence and excitement, whatever your birth plan! Daisy Birthing™ classes are here to provide friendly tuition using relaxed-active birth techniques which are equally suited to a hospital or home birth (we do not believe in movement for movements sake, but movement for improvement). Our antenatal classes really can help you unlock the key to easier birth.
Daisy Birthing™ classes and the couples birth preparation active birth workshops provide the ideal forum for you to meet and talk to other parents-to-be (both in the classes and virtually through web class groups and forums) re-creating the mother to mother wisdom and peer to peer support which is often lost in today's fast paced and computer based societies.
Alongside the support, Daisy Birthing™ classes and workshops aim to provide the most inclusive active birth and holistic pregnancy education class type that we know of within the UK, backed by FEDANT approval. We are exceptionally proud to have been one of the first antenatal movement education programmes to obtain FEDANT recognition in Summer 2009, setting the benchmark for other providers. The Daisy Birthing™ 'move to improve' education will help you to better understand, sense and interpret the pattern and rhythm of labour (we call our tools practical birth metaphors), making you completely confident and ready for your birth journey.
Our birth specific movements are designed to work on the often forgotten 'key birthing muscles' like the psoas and piriformis - vital for helping you release in labour (as featured in Practical Parenting Feb 2011 magazine). Of course, relaxation is just as important as the movement and with this in mind, Daisy Birthing™ classes aim to create powerful birth anchors allowing you to keep in control of adrenalin levels on d-day. Our labour music will guide you through your classes and guide you through your labour! The self hypnosis inspired parts of our class undoubtedly help you chill out in pregnancy and in labour (as featured in Practical Parenting ‘How to experience a chilled out birth, Sept 2010').

Our birthing method is delivered both through weekly mum-only antenatal sessions led by experienced and friendly peers which combine movement, education and relaxation in a really chilled out and flowing class AND through more intensive workshops for mum to attend with her birth partner.
Our friendly team of mums, all trained as Daisy Birthing™ antenatal teachers are approved by FEDANT, and are here to help you, and to provide an opportunity in your week for complete relaxation.

Our teachers call this the birthing 'tool kit', allowing complete choice and adapting to changing direction on d-day!
We can provide 'no nonsense' dad friendly sessions to support the package you are receiving as mum to be.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM CLASSES?
Daisy Birthing™ has a unique take on birth preparation. We have taken the bits we love best from a range of more conventional techniques such as Pregnancy Yoga, Traditional Active Birthing, Birth Breathing Education, Birth Hypnosis and Birth Education and combined these into a 1hr 20minute all embracing class which allows mums to learn as they move. Daisy Birthing™ is FEDANT approved and has helped more than 1500 mums to date by 2010. By delivering key birthing facts, alongside a range of gentle and careful movements, physical metaphor exercises and relaxation/affirmation scripts (all set to our own beautiful labour music) we build muscle memory and help mums-to-be find intuitive techniques to help them enjoy a more comfortable birth experience.
COMPLETE LEARNING EVERY WEEK.
Each weekly session will guide you through 1hr 20minutes of pregnancy specific movement (even suitable for mums with SPD), breathing tuition, active birth mentoring, relaxations, birth metaphors and self hypnosis style relaxation scripts. You can join from week 14 of your pregnancy (average time to start is around week 22) and stay with us right through to week 41 if you wish. Even though we run on a rolling 6 week class plan, every course brings out new education and new focus as each week and every mum brings a new dimension. 1st, 2nd and multiple timers welcome!
