I have been asked to provide staff to work in a gatehouse, and to operate the entry barrier. Do the staff need a S.I.A licence?

I would think so given that they are effectively key holders with responsibility for allowing access to premises.  Check your particular circumstances against any relevant exclusions though.

Steve,

I think it will come down to the job description and responsibilities. You will need to be aware that if you are providing SIA staff through your recruitment agency you will require a non frontline licence yourself.

Feel free to contact me for more information or help.
