Thanks Phil,

My understanding of a business plan is this: a 1-2 page plan as a useful management tool for your own business, or the full multi-page document for banks, investors, etc. In short, as most BPs end up dust coverred on a shelf in your office, don't waste too much time preparing one at the expense of running your business if you don't need to.

NO no rob

you must stick to your plan with a get out at the end... make the plan.. build the business... and at the end sell it ! no point otherwise may as well be PAYE

To many disadvantages for a sole trader in these hard times

you cant make a good living from it.............. the profit is at the end

build a sound business and cash it !££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££££Sealed

Business plans are ever so vital to ensure a strong starting point and continued success. You can identify your strengths and weaknesses earlier on, stick to targets and drive yourself forward.

Try the local Business Link website as it provides free business plans. Most accountnats will also be happy to help go through it with you.

An accountant is a must at some point if you are serious about building a business to sell not only to get you through the ever increasing and changing legislation of her majesty's government but as an essential part of the selling the process (end Plan)

5 7 or 10 years of documented Records by a charted accountant are the biggest and most vital part of selling a business

here is a useful Link that helps to explain the importance of a plan
