I' an online marketing executive for The Blue Cube. I have found that between my email marketing, cold calling, website and free index I am receiving a nice amount of interest, but you can never have too much in this industry. I am looking for activities or strategies other people have found particularly useful. I haven't the time for networking sadly but that is an area I am farmiliar with so no posts about that unless you know of any really good events I can attent.

Hi Torin

Have you considered direct mail? With email inboxes increasingly clogged up, an actual letter in the mail is often a more effective way of reaching potential clients and certainly has more chance of actually being read.

has been something I considered as well as flyers but its a large cost especially with 1st class stamps now at 60p. Even outsourcing that sort of work isn't an attractive figure. I find freeindex really good and have actually wondered if there are any more sites like this with similar benifits.

Mail can be pricey so has to be fairly targeted to be cost-effective. I am also a big FreeIndex fan - the only other site I use to build my client base is peopleperhour.com, which has some good jobs on (and some bad ones). Their new Hourlies concept, where you advertise a set service for a set fee, is an interesting one.

7 I suppose - it is definitely the best of the outsourcing sites, but that's not saying a great deal!

Thing is we specalise in monthly SEO for 6-12 months website builds to specific criterial and program from scratch to make sure a customer gets a unique and well made site. Doing hourly quotes and churning out so 3 hours your can have a website. Isn't the direction I want to move in.

How about SMS marketing? This can be done relatively cheap and people always have their phones with them and are more likely to read a text than an email they'd consider to be 'spam'.

Send me a message if you want some more info, the company i work for use SMS and Email marketing tools which you might find of interest.

Torin - Hourlies are just part of PPH. People also post specific jobs that you can bid on and many of these are long-term projects. It might not be for you but probably worth a look.

I will have a further look into hourly as it is obviously another revenue of lead gen and if you find helpful definatly worth my attention. Thanks for the SMS idea I must ask because everyone I know gets miffed about those texts and I know my friends and family are aswell, but how much sucess do you get from SMS marketing?

It tends to be better than email marketing we've found. With various amounts of filters people use on their inboxes to flag emails as junk means you're not garunteed they're going to read them. 85% of the UK have mobile phones which more often than not are on their person, i know from personal experience that even though i can see on the preview its from a company, i still read it to see what they're trying to sell me. The best thing to do is if you was wanting SMS marketing is to get the relevant leads, as it's no good spending money on sending SMS to people who it's not relevant to.

I'll send you a quick message with some more info for you to have a look at. :)

hi Torin,

The reason I set-up in my particular business, is to be able to get the data I have, takes around 3,000 phone calls per day, to get just 100 new business leads, that have either just set-up, re-located, or recently acquired. we have many other sectors that we have available.

Why not have a look at our website:www.leads4business.co.uk

My e-mail: nick@leads4business.co.uk
