| Reply : 10 Jul 2012 While you are lacking meta data from your site, I don't personally think these are show stopping problems, as there are more serious issues which could hamper the actual user experience once they come on to the website. First of all, it's a massive no no to include text within an image. Your Tennants and Landlords links at the top of the site include text within them, but Google doesn't read the text off this unless the image tag has an alt tag provided with it, with the text thats used in the image populating this. Whats more, visitors with visual impairment use screen readers and they won't be able to read the text contained within the image. You are missing proper page titles on your pages. Saying "Home" is fine but you would benefit from including keywords in this. The text size I feel is quite small, so increasing this would make the site easier to read. The menu text could be difficult to read on the dark red background. Changing these to white would improve it considerably. Also, building a news section in to the website is a good idea, but only if it's going to be updated on a regular basis and the content is going to be unique and engaging. Remember that copying content from another website will mean Google peanalizes your site because of this duplicate content. But I will say that if you are active on Twitter I would include your Twitter feed on the home page of your site. Apart from the points I've listed, it's not a bad website and looks professional. It's easy to navigate, and the information I want is where I would expect to find it. You've done a good job! |
