I am investigating options for secure credit/debit card payments from my clients.

We are basically a Taxi company, but most work is longer distance and airports.

I am reliably informed that there are companies who broker credit/debit card payments using an App which can be installed on my iphone. Have any Freeindex users experience or recommendations they could post here for me to investigate.

I do not want a machine/terminal with a monthly rental etc. Obviously I expect to pay a percentage on any transactions made with any finance broker.

I'm sure someone has posted information about an app in answer to a similar query on the forum but I can't find it.

Cardsave - they are good and their rates are good plus you avoid the hefty upfront merchant cost charged by the banks. However, if you pull out before the end of the contract you will be charged a hefty cancellation fee.

PayPal - all round excellent. Plus they have a virtual terminal - costs you nowt - that you could access via your mobile. Fees are by transaction. So if you don't use it it costs nothing. No cancellation fee.

you could also try "go cardless".  it is a reasonble fee based, system,  technically a direct debit system.  but it only works wel for regular customers.  brilliant for those with an account with you as fees are lower.  it also is worth thinking about useing a sytem that integrates with your accounting system, then there is far less paperwork for you. that is why I moved to "go cardless" as it integrates with Kashflow

Hi - I work as an independant Business Development Manager linked to PaymentSense. As the UK’s largest Merchant Service Provider, we are experts in card processing. We help business owners across the country achieve unbeatable rates and excellent service - NO set up fee, Capped rates (so no hidden costs or price hikes) and you can have a GPRS terminal with a single sim or a 4 way roaming sim if you are likely to be in poor signal areas. The monthly fees would be repaid by the extra business generated by taking cards - you could also offer cash-back and reduce your banking fees!
