| Original Message Added : 24 Aug 2012 I have recently signed up to this website (three hours ago), as well as enjoying all of the free information that you guys post (marketing information has helped), I am hoping that you can help me. I created my company website (listed below), and I am generating a few hits considering it has only been live for three weeks. Could I get feedback in regards to design and layout, I haven't generate any work from the site yet and would like to address any issues sooner rather than later. Thank you in advance for viewing and taking the time to comment. Website: http://www.incahome-services.co.uk Tom.

| Reply : 24 Aug 2012 Welcome to Freeindex it is a great resource for new businesses to network and get leads. I have found it very useful. I asked my SEO partner to have a look at your site and give a very brief view of it. This is what he said. The first thing I would say is that the site is thin on content. For example, the testimonials page is ok but each photo should link to a more detailed page on that particular project, to give potential customers a better insight into the services of the company. One small photo does not really get it across. Generally, more detail is needed by adding a third tier to the site, where each current page links off to more detailed pages on the sub-topics. More photos of jobs completed etc, and more multimedia in the form of pdf downloads, videos etc. Hope this helps Tom to sum up more detail tell your potential customers exactly what you can do for them instead of them trying to read between the lines and going elsewhere to find an exact match to what they are looking for.Tony

| Reply : 24 Aug 2012 The PDF idea is great, as I keep a portfolio on each project, so that can be added with relative ease. I see what you mean in terms of detail, makybe I should make the images (body image) smaller and the text content longer. Thank you. |

| Reply : 24 Aug 2012 Well....looks like you are onto a good start. Please consider the below as a positive feedback. It maybe that you might not be able to do any changes now but if you do intend to do in future then please consider the below Point 1 : For me I was slightly confused with the layout in terms of repetition of your menu. You have top main navigation and then just below that you have the same menu structure repeated. Not sure what value that adds to the whole thing. Suggestion : You might be better off with highlighting the key points of your services or some projects that you have done via photos within the banner section for the front page. It is a good area which can be utilised to zap people who visit your site . I normally sue it for highlighting any offer that I have or anything that makes me unique Point 2 : Usability : When a user/visitor selects a particular menu item , sometimes it becomes easier to highlight the menu item to indicate that he is seeing item for the menu he has clicked on. This can be achieved by either highlighting the navigation menu in a different colour or using something called as breadcrumbs.... which just say HOME PAGE Home Page > Testimonials Home Page > Gallery Point 3 : The footer of your page has a very important role to play and should be utilised to it's max. Here you could put like a 4 column section next to each other.. Section 1. Could be your company address & details Section 2 . Could show a google map with a pointer to your location Section 3. Repeat your navigation Section 4 . Could be links to facebook page, twitter , contact form etc There are many more areas that can be improved but if you start off with this then at least we are going one step forward. Website is meant to be changing in terms of content and layout etc... so I am sure we will a lot of opportunity to apply some bright ideas ;-) |

| Reply : 24 Aug 2012 More great advise, it looks like my weekend is pretty much setup haha. I like the footer links idea, looking at different websites and I can see how it is utilised. I am taking into consideration all feedback, hopefully the end product will justify the hours of work. Regards Tom. |

| Reply : 24 Aug 2012 - (Edited : 24 Aug 2012) Please take a look at my company website. Part of my service is a free website review (from the perspective of a consumer/potential customer). Its a comprehensive report & I do this with the hope that if you decide to capitalise upon the brilliant opportunities that Social Media offers in the beginning of your business, you will hopefully look to me to quote for you :-). www.rocoja.co.uk I would say the main thing that jumps out straight away is no Social media links.... Also its quite hard to navigate (as a potential customer) if you have to copy & paste email addresses... these should be hyperlinked. Just 2 ideas... Please have a look at my blog, I hope there are some idea's on there which may help you too. http://rocoja.wordpress.com/2012/06/29/why-hiring-an-electrician-to-do-the-wirin.. Kindest regards Karin |

The use of Flash could also adversely affect your results.
