This is the first time i have ever had to post a question online for advise. I have a small electrical contracting company, we were recently asked to take on work on behalf of a main contractor. Since the beginning we have had issues with getting paid, they have never been on time and now it has got to a point where we cannot continue to work like this. We have not been paid all the money we are owed by this company and now we cannot afford to even pay all the guys wages. I have had to go to drastic measures to find cash so i can at least pay my men and keep them happy. The main contractor has said they will not pay me for the works that we have done because they have not been paid by the main contractor that got them in to do the work. What they have done is win the job and then just pass the buck without giving all the information and support that is needed to make it all work and now they don't want to pay for all the hard work we have put in to try and make this project a success. I have no more ideas i have tried to speak to them on loads of occasion in person and that does not produce and worthwhile results i have tried to email a good few times and had no joy with that and when you call them they basically never answer there phones and on the off chance that they do they just say that they are busy or they will sort it out and nothing ever comes of it.
What can i do?

I had a company in london go bust a couple of months after I had completed work for them so I got a debt management company to chase the owner for money owed. It took a few months but I got my money back as I think the owner did not want to get blacklisted himself.
Hope this gives you some help.
