| Original Message Added : 14 Dec 2010 I have setup a new business doing Computer Repairs and Services in Stoke on Trent. I was an IT Manager up to 5 weeks ago. The business is geared towards domestic and small businesses offering a range of Computer Services. I have done my own website, business stationary and just waiting to put the sign writing on the car. I have done a lot of SEO for the site which for my main keyword is landing on page 2 for google The website is http://www.sopcs.co.uk I would appreciated any feedback whether positive or negative, have i missed something or i have included something that is not recommended. Once again thank you for your time in reading this. Thank you Steve O |

| Reply : 15 Dec 2010 Completed a quick review of your website and included my thoughts below:- 1. Like the style and navigation 2. Nice to see the front page passes W3C. However you do have some minor W3C html errors on other pages. 3. Some of the pages can be difficult to read due to the background and font colour used 4. Suggest you could have used Google maps API on your 'About Us' page instead of a static map 5. 'Links' page - suggest needs looking at so it resizes automatically depending on the amount of content. 6. 'Blog' - Suggest would be more appealing if it was integrated into your website instead of routing to external blog website 7. 'Contact form' - Attempted to send blank form and it navigated me to a separate error message page. Suggest would be better to indicate which fields are mandatory and if sent without populating then highlight the fields without navigating to error page. Hope you find the feedback useful Regards SteveB

| Reply : 16 Dec 2010 - (Edited : 16 Dec 2010) 1. Completed a quick review based on your changes and in my view much improved. 2. As for integrating your blog. You don't need a sub domain. All you need to do is load the wordpress software, extract the zip file into a folder and setup the database and then complete the installs. If you google for "wordpress 5 minute install" it should be the 1st link - codex.wordpress.org/ 3. 'Contact form' - there should be a few forms with the captcha code if you search on google. 4. Also suggest you need a Privacy statement page if you are going to capture visitors details. If you find my feedback of use would appreciate if you could indicate by voting. Regards SteveB

| Reply : 19 Dec 2010 Completed further review and detailed my thoughts below:- In my view you have made some good improvements. However there are some that I would suggest you need to reconsider which are:- 1. Your Privacy statement includes a statement "If you a new customer, we will only contact you or allow third parties to contact you only when you have provided consent and only by those means you provided consent for" I could not find any means to 'allow/decline' consent on your contact form. I also have a concern because the visitor is not a new customer at this point, all they are doing is making an enquiry. You also appear to state that once they are a customer you can decide to pass on their data to a third party so even though you offer them the option to decline as a new customer you don't appear to offer the same once they are a customer. 2. I suggest you need to be careful with your drop down menu you have included in some of the main menu items, for example: You have a drop down menu under 'About Us' with three sub items. This would prompt me to select one of the three and not necessarily click on 'About Us' which would mean I would never navigate to the main subject. If I do click on 'About Us' and I'm navigated to the main 'About Us' page I am not presented with the three sub items. I suggest you need to have a clear idea of a standard navigation theme throughout the website and in my view certainly for the 'About Us' main menu item these three sub items are not required as you have them as links in the footer. 3. Blog - You don't state what problems you are experiencing integrating the blog into your website. Did you have a chance to review the references I provided? If you are still having problems I'm happy to chat through. Hope you find the feedback of use Regards SteveB - www.pxwm.co.uk

| Reply : 21 Dec 2010 Site looks good but... can I suggest another keyword to get you started. A quick check on 'IT services stoke' reveals 0 searches/month whereas 'computer repair stoke' gets 260 (according to big G) - would hate you get to #1 for something no one is looking for. Either change you page header/tags etc or build an inner page and build some links to that. When I checked you were on page 2 pos 12 so you should be able to get onto the front page for that term with a little bit more work. go for it :) Dave - enterprisingseo.com |

| Reply : 27 Dec 2010 I have took in what you have mentioned with regards to the privacy/about us bit, i have decided to remove the privacy, terms and disclaimer for now as i need to work on this a lot more. As for the blog, well!!! my hosting package doesnt have SQL included and it will be a while before i upgrade my hosting so wordpress is not an option i can use at the moment.
