Hello team

I have a number of Categories listed for the different types of logistics services that i offer

However i have had a good look through the directory on my chosen Services , but Lightweight Movers are not there on many should it not be listed under all

FRAGILE GOODS, COURIOR, MAN AND VAN. LOGISTICS, LIGHT HAULAGE ETC

if however i go directly to removals the listing is shown but you have to search for it and if you don't know your way round the site could prove difficult for potential customers to find us

or is it the case we only have a listing under one header?

regards to all

Phil....... Lightweight Movers

Hi Phil, From your message, it's very difficult to tell exactly what it is that you've tried in order to find your business on the site, so please bear with us and we'll try to answer your questions with the information that you've provided. At the moment, your main category on FreeIndex is "Removals", and your secondary categories on FreeIndex are "House Clearance" and "Fragile Goods Transport". If you search for any of those terms in the location of Gatwick, then your business is shown at or near the top of the list of search results. Your business is also listed in the directory pages for those categories. Your business is not listed in the categories of "Man and Van", "Logistics", "Light Haulage", or "Couriers". If you are not listed in those categories then you will not appear on the directory pages for those categories. You have entered some keywords as your chosen Search Key Phrases on the site, including "Courier" and "Man and Van". Please do be aware, however, that Key Phrases are not the same as categories and do not work in the same way. For example, you have entered "Courier" as one of your Key Phrases, so you will appear in some searches for "Courier" on the site - if you search for "Courier" in Gatwick then you're near the top of the list of search results. However, you are not listed in the category of "Couriers" on FreeIndex. This means that you are not listed in the "Couriers" directory, and if you search for "Couriers" on FreeIndex, then your business will automatically be listed below any businesses which have registered themselves in the "Couriers" category. If you want to change your selected categories and Search Key Phrases, then you can do so at any time by going to My FreeIndex > Edit your Business Profile, then clicking on the "Edit" option provided in the "Categories and Key Phrases" section. Your main category choice is the most important and primarily defines how your business is identified on FreeIndex. Hope that's helpful information. Best wishes, The FreeIndex Team

if we only have one listing in the directory Ie THE FIRST ONE

what is the point of offering 10 others

should the other 9 selected be automaticaly entered

enclosed link to the home page directory as you will see removal companies are not on it ? you have to search down to a sub listing

http://www.freeindex.co.uk/

as a general search (thinking as someone searching for service) you arrive at the home page ,> click on. directory> and entire MAN AND VAN or Removals

this is the result http://www.freeindex.co.uk/searchresults.htm?searchtype=directory&k=man_and_..=

as you will see no Lightweight Movers

Hi Phil,

You seem to be a bit confused about what your categories actually are.

You can select a maximum of three categories (not ten) in which to list your business on FreeIndex. Your main category is currently set as "Removals". Your two secondary categories are currently set as "Man and Van" and "General Courier Services".

Don't confuse your Lead Alert categories with your business categories. Lead Alert categories only determine the type of leads that you will be alerted to - not where your business will appear in the directory. You do get to select up to ten Lead Alert categories for your business.

If you want to view or change your current business categories, which you can do whenever you want, then log in to your account, go to My FreeIndex > Edit your Business Profile, and scroll down until you see the heading "Categories and Key Phrases". Click on the "Edit" button under that heading if you want to change your selected business categories at any time.

Now, if you search for one of your secondary categories on FreeIndex, like "Man and Van", then what happens is that businesses which have chosen "Man and Van" as their main category will be prioritised in the search results. In other words, all the businesses which have "Man and Van" as their main category will be listed above businesses which have chosen "Man and Van" as one of their secondary categories, like yourself. If you search for "Man and Van" in Gatwick or in Surrey then you will see your business appear in the search results straight away.

With reference to your query about the home page: our analytical data shows that users of the site are much more likely to search the directory by typing in what they want to find, and where. Users do not tend to navigate the site by clicking on the category links shown on the home page. We can't show a link to every single category on the site home page in any case.

Also, if you look at the home page, you will see the heading "Property" displayed, and under the "Property" heading, you will see a link to the "Removals and Relocations" directory section. Your business is listed in the "Removals and Relocations" directory on the second page of results, as you can see from this link:

http://www.freeindex.co.uk/categories/property/removals_and_relocation(2)/

Hope that's helpful information.

Best wishes,

The FreeIndex Team
