I'll accept that social media is useful but I'm not convinced that social media is ESSENTIAL in restaurant marketing.
Before people start dabbling in social media they need to get the essentail right. For example good food, value, excellent hygiene, excellent customer service, upselling, follow up .. well the list is long but far too many restaurants fail on these and I would suggest they get these right before trying social media.
I might add I am a social media advocate .. but I've never seen a restaurant suceed with social media when the basics are wrong.
