Hi there, as the title suggests we are looking for some advice or possibly help in building a company app for a taxi company!

We would like it to be available on all platforms but dependant on costs, depends on who we could offer it to!

I'm not totally tech savvy and at the moment just looking for pointers as to what would be required.

I have ideas as to what i would want within the app, i.e. quotation and booking forms but dont know what else could be included?? Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.

Also on the marketing side, where or how would this possibly be issued to customers? Could the customers share it with their friends? or could it be issued through Facebook? All these issues need to be answered for this to go ahead.

So is there anyone out there that could lend their experience to this project and help out on a interesting project?

Look forward to hearing your answers.

First question - do you NEED the app, or are you doing it because every Tom, Dick and Harry seem to have one? What will it bring to the business in terms of the bottom line?

You've described it as a taxi company and speaking personally, I'll find the number of a taxi firm near me and call them. I won't load an app first so maybe a few more pieces of info on your company will help here.

If you were creating an app for LOTS of taxi firms which could bring together all their rates etc then that might be worth persuing but it would require buy-in from all those firms to keep their information current or your app would lose credibility overnight.

I need more info on the app concept and the business itself to be of any more use I think.

I think you many be trying to create a Mobile Web app for your site, which is very useful when a visitor visits your website and discover that you have a mobile version of the site?...

If you want it on all platforms you'll have to develop several different apps.

iPhone is your winner basically.

Hi There,

I'm aware this isn't a "sales forum" however a good friend and business associate has literally just finished building a website and accompanying app for one of Kent's most well known taxi companies.

His name is Steve, he is a really genuine Guy who I'm sure could give you some useful pointers without any obligation.

If you'd like me to put you guys in touch then feel free to call/text me on 07970 174 055. I'm sure he'll be happy to help you out.

Cheers
