Hi just a little disturbing news that I have just come across about vistaprint.co.uk

Beware and check your bank if you have used vistaprint.co.uk. Have a look for your self here: http://www.dooyoo.co.uk/online-shops/vistaprint-co-uk/1047633/

I am very unhappy about this activity by such a good company that I rate so highly.
I have just ordered from them in the past week and set up a website too.
I think they should come clean and let people know what they're ordering and the terms that they apply to it.

Not good.Surprised

Roy Livingstone.

Another scam with vista print is to hide asscociated companies in the small print, then when you order you find you are paying a monthly fee for premium service to 2 or 3 other companies usually about £10 a month for each, on you credit card and when you notice its very difficult to get it stopped

I have used http://www.vistaprint.co.uk for many years now, without any problems whatsoever, in fact I would strongly recommend them. As with all online shopping processes, I do feel people should ensure they read terms before they commit to ordering something, and check they are ticking the correct options and selections.

I too have used vistaprint on at least eight occasions with no problems. In fact I recommend them to everyone I know. Always read the small print and ensure you select NOT to subscribe to any of their affiliate services.

Basically as with anything ALWAYS READ THE T and C.

Your credit card (not debit card) protects you against ongoing subscriptions to services etc. If you write-e-mail or call the service provider that is charging you (not your credit card company)and end the agreement they must cancel the agreement and stop debiting you within 30 days (unless the original agreement is for a specific time). Keep the cancellation letter e-mail or date of phone call and reference number.

If the company continues to debit your credit card call your card provider and tell them the situation and then ask the card provider to CHARGEBACK the debit REASON CODE 41. You may need to provide the card provider with proof of cancellation before they will do this.

I used to work for a credit card company I know what I am talking about, this applies to both Visa and Mastercard but NO other cards.

I also have used this company 3 times in all and have never had this problem. I cant even see anything on the site relating to the vpreward bit mentioned. Although I was worried when reading this article and went and checked all my statements to be sure. I assume Roy of liverpool was on a genuine site not a bogus one and got his cards. The only problem I had with vista print was the amount of email I recieved after ordering from them.

I have used these a lot with no issues, apart from their extortionate vat rates lol.

However I do pay all the time via paypal - does this mean I am safe? I guess it only happens to people who pay via card / bank?

Vistaprint...

I recently discovered that vistaprint had been taking £20 out of my account for over 2 years without my knowledge until recently I managed to re-instate a previously unuseable email account (another problem) this came to light and I was able to have them stopped.

I did not sign up to any of these VPrewards scheme or club prem. but they had each been removing £9.95 a month. so as a result I will not be using vistaprint any more they confuse you with all their "special offers" which are no more special than I am unless you a very careful you have allowed them unlimited access to your accuont the thing is if you use a debit card for your transaction they have your card details and can use that to fund this little scam of theirs, and you can't get the bank to stop it. you effectivly have to destroy you bank card and get a new one issued that then prevents them from taking any more.

I found the idea that a company can do this to individules or companies is quite beyond me.

Don't use their website system cancell it immediately I can put you in touch with a firm that will set you up a custom site that will cost you less.

Please look me up at www.easy-plumb.co.uk you can email me from there.

I recently got tricked by vistaprint into getting some "free" business cards and stationery.

It wasn't really free as if you don't want their advertising at the back you do have to pay (even when using one of their standard templates) Though I consider myself to be very internet savvy (I'm a professional web developer with over 10 years of experience) I believe that the site is designed to make you order as much as possible with a bit of trickery such as a counter saying this "offer will end in xxx seconds" and tick this and that, so you have to be very careful and only order what you need.

I did was happy with their product at the end, the cards, letters etc are all nice but I didn't enjoy that they weren't more honest and upfront about their "free" offers. Now, having read other posts I'll be checking my account to make sure they don't continue taking money....

Hi Roy

I am very surprised at your comments.?

i have been using vista print for three years, and have ordered over two thousand business cards from

them, all have arrived on time. i also have ordered promotional stuff, there pricing structure is clear.

they are helpful and polite on the phone despite being based in holland

i have come to trust this company, if a mistake has been made just talk to them, i am confident

they would sort it out, you must be careful with the charges for post. if you want your goods under 21 days you have to pay more .

i see you have a website perhaps the charges apply to that...?

Roy,

Vistaprint aren't scamming people there just good at business.

You cant blame them if you dont read the instructions properly, i've used them for years and had there free stuff and had no trouble, but any one with any sense will know of course they will try and tempt you in to spend more money and earn a bit more cash from you, thats what business is all about.

When on there site you need to fully understand what you are clicking on before you do it otherwise best not to do it Wink

Personally I do agree with Steve that Vista Print are very good at marketing their products though I would say that you do need to be very alert to what is being offered, rather than just clicking continue with your order as there is a tendency for additional Special Offers to be included, though the costs should alert you to there being a problem before you process the order.

That said they do seem to be using the continous payment methods in respect of certain products which cannot normally be stopped by your bank even if you have cause for complaint. Though if you follow the advice of a client of mine it can be rectified by you applying for a new bank card under the pretext of having lost your original. Personally I have never had any problems but a little free advice goes along way.

Hello Tim

i think you have missed the point of the original thread

i still continue to use Vista Print without any problems but as said before

you must be careful when paying for your goods as Special offers are added to your basket

which is Rather cheeky,,,, you need to be vigilant when checking out and insure you delete any special offers before paying for your order

Hi Phil,

Well I get your point as I did not specifically refer to the actual details of the o/p if only because I was agreeing with Steve's over view.

Refering to the points raised these are not realistic. Imagine if you will what it would mean to any business if either in a physical or electronic sense to have to constantly reiterate the terms and conditions of any particular business agreement.

Under English law the consumer or person who enters into a contract either as an individual or as a company representative is obliged to read the small print of every contract as ignorance is not an allowable defence. Some firms do expoit this loophole by not putting their terms on each applicable page, when special offers are included, and that point could be used to counter any disputes if for example; the business tried to claim that they were ignorant of any reasonable terms and expectations after all hiding the terms specific to a completely different page is hardly reasonable.
