| Original Message Added : 8 Dec 2009 - (Edited : 24 Apr 2013) The FreeIndex gadget allows you to get information out of FreeIndex and display it on your own website. This lets you display any reviews which you have received and/or rating information on your own website, by simply adding a few lines of HTML code to your site. How do I put the FreeIndex Widget on my website? The HTML code needs to be integrated into your website. Some websites are Content Managed, allowing the site owners to login and add / edit information. If this is the case for you, all you need to do is paste the HTML into the correct position you want the gadget to be displayed on your website. If your website isn't Content Managed, you'll need to get your web designer to help you put the gadget code onto your website. Getting the best results Use the customisation options to set the features you want displayed, making sure that the width of the gadget fits the space you have available on your website. Flick through the examples to find one that best meets your needs, then customise it to make it look just right. Once you've put the HTML onto your website, the chances are you won't be back to change it for some time, so make sure it's perfect! Old Gadgets - Important : Please remove any old style gadgets from your website as they will be disabled on 1 July 2013 and will no longer work on your website. Common Problems... - If you paste the HTML into a text area, it won't work. You need to paste it into the HTML version of the page you are editing (there is usually an option to "Edit HTML" when editing your website pages). - Pasting HTML can sometimes change it. "Less than" characters (<) can get converted into < for instance. Be sure to check that once you have published your changes, the HTML of your page matches the HTML we have provided (you can do this on most browsers by right clicking and selecting 'View Source'). - The HTML you paste can get changed if you have a Flash website, and should therefore be kept out of the Flash section of your page and in the HTML section. If you have any problems, please let us know and we'll do what we can to help.
